a new virus strikes!

Well, this week we have a new first at the Coffey House - Fifth's Disease! Another one of those childhood viruses I could live without ever learning about. Lance was home from school on Thursday and Friday, with a *low* temperature high of 103.4 degrees. And Lee was not to be outdone - he woke up this morning at 4:00 a.m. with a whopping 104.2 degree temperature. He was so hot it was difficult to hold him. Some ice, tylenol, and a cool spritzing in his hair brought the temp down to a cool 101 thankfully. So a trip to the pediatrician revealed the likely culprit is Fifth's disease. It is so interesting how each of them reacts differently to a virus. I guess it is just like everything else, we are all unique in our responses to what life gives us!
